Hey guys, we're more than a week into tour and still looking for some help...

This is for This Flood Covers the Earth and Lanterns.
Flood = screamy epic post-hardcore, hear them here: myspace
Lanterns = loud indie guitar rock, hear them here: myspace

Basically, we're looking for anything, and I will stress ANYTHING at this point. We have our own PA with us, if you could just give us access to your living room or basement or garage for an evening and invite your friends over and let us pass a hat around and try and sell some shit, that would be amazing. A lot of people have been really great and helped out, but a ton of other people flaked on us and pretty much fucked us while we're a thousand miles from home. Any help at all would be amazing, so if you can, please hit us up.

Tour Contacts? [May. 18th, 2006|02:28 pm]

Hi there. I'm trying to book a summer tour for my band, This Flood Covers the Earth, and our friends, Lanterns. Flood sounds like mid-'90's Ebullition crossed with early-'00's Level Plane, with some doom metal and indie stuff thrown in. Lanterns are like Drive Like Jehu covering My Bloody Valentine songs. Flood's Myspace is here, Lanterns' is here. Recently, we've been having some trouble throughout the midwest, New England, and the south, and were wondering if we could get some help as far as contacts go.

States we need help with:

Connecticut
Florida
Georgia
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky
Nebraska
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minneapolis
Ohio
Oklahoma
Rhode Island
South Dakota
Tennessee
Virginia
West Virginia
Wisconsin

So yeah, if you book shows, or know people who do, feel free to get in touch with us, either through this medium, or by emailing us at thisfloodcoverstheearth@gmail.com, or by shooting us a line on Myspace. For those interested, yes, we can offer show trades in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles.

Thanks!

Hi. We're going on tour. We need help. Sucks to be us. [Jan. 13th, 2006|01:01 pm]

Hi there. I'm in this band called This Flood Covers the Earth. We sound like Drive Like Jehu, Unwound, Don Caballero, Funeral Diner, Off Minor, etc (loud chaotic electric guitar music). We're going on tour in February and still need a little bit of help. We're really not picky, we'll play a bar, a club, a garage, a living room, a basement, a softball field, whatever. We can offer you pretty much any date you could ever want in San Diego if that's any incentive to helping us get some of these shows nailed down. We have an mp3 up on our Myspace, which is linked above. Here's our shit so far:

Feb 02 Ventura CA @ Alpine
Feb 03 ??? Central Valley or SF Bay Area help would be awesome
Feb 04 Sacramento CA @ DIY Vegan House, w/ Fuck the Forest
Feb 05 Portland OR @ High Karate House, w/ Built By Giants
Feb 06 Seattle WA @ the Funhouse (details about this below)
Feb 07 ??? Seattle / Bellingham / Tacoma, anywhere in Washington really
Feb 08 Eugene OR @ DIVA w/ Doubleplusgood
Feb 09 Reno NV @ the Spacement, w/ Acts of Sedition, Bafabegiya
Feb 10 Santa Cruz CA @ the Showbox, w/ Comadre, Mohorram Atta
Feb 11 Santa Ana CA @ Sol Art Gallery-Cafe, w/ Minus Radio, Poland Romanski

On the 6th in Seattle, we just need two bands to play. That's it. Just two bands. The Funhouse will give us the show if we get two bands to play it with us. Anyone? Anyone?

Any help at all would be very much appreciated. If you can offer any, please respond to this, or contact us through our Myspace, or shoot us a line at thisfloodcoverstheearth@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Feb 10 2006 San Francisco Bay Area, CA (help!)

We can return the favor by booking bands in San Diego.

We made a record. [Nov. 7th, 2005|03:05 am]

Hi there. We're the View From Space. We're from San Diego, CA.

We just made a record called Hands Drawn to Fire As Sailors to Sea. It's four songs in twenty-nine minutes. One of them has a gang vocal.

If Drive Like Jehu, Funeral Diner, Isis, Unwound, Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, and Envy were all cats and got into a fight, they'd sound something like the way we sound.

You can hear some of the songs here: click click click.

We play shows and stuff, and we could talk about them, but mostly this is a fairly typical "omgz guyz our band put out a cheaply made CD-R you should totally come see us play and/or buy one!!!1!" type of post.

So tell us what you think, and if you like it, that's cool. Maybe we'll come through the city you live in one day and you can come see us and tell us in person. Or maybe we already play in the city you live in, so you can do it sooner. Or if you don't like it, you can tell us that we suck and that abortion is a choice that our mothers should have made.

Anyway, thanks for reading... and hopefully listening.

Show on Saturday night! Woohoo!

End on End: Ebullition style hardcore meets From Ashes Rise. Heavy and aggressive with political lyrics. One of the best live bands ever.
Disconnect: Thrashy/indie/hardcore/punk from Reno. You love it.
An Arrow in Flight: DIY as fuck hardcore. Passionate and political.
The View From Space: Crushingly heavy indie/metal/drone. Epic and brutal. Think Funeral Diner/Envy/Isis.
Asshole Assassination Squad: Thrashy youth crew. Similar to DS-13.
Bastard Ass: Power-violence that makes you wonder if we're back in the '80's.

The Workmen's Circle
1525 S Robertson Blvd

7pm, $5

See you there!
